We process Personal Data about Users in order to:
- 3.1 provide and operate the StrangeBee Academy and its features, including registration, authentication, course access, progress tracking;
- 3.2 manage our relationship with Users and, where applicable, with the organizations that give them access to the Academy;
- 3.3 comply with our legal obligations and respond to requests from public authorities;
- 3.4 protect our rights and interests and those of our Users or third parties, and detect, prevent and address fraud, misuse or security incidents;
- 3.5 analyze how the Website and our courses are used, so that we can maintain, secure and improve them;
- 3.6 communicate with Users in connection with the Services (for example, service announcements, support messages, reminders and updates); and
- 3.7 where permitted by law and, where required, with the User’s consent, send marketing communications about our products, services and training.

StrangeBee SAS only processes Personal Data where there is a legal basis to do so. Depending on the context, we may rely on one or more of the following legal basis:
- 4.1 Consent: where you have given us your consent for one or more specific purposes (for example, to receive marketing communications).
- 4.2 Contract: where the processing is necessary to create and manage your Account, provide you with access to the Academy, deliver courses and certificates, or otherwise perform a contract with you or with the organization that gives you access to the Academy.
- 4.3 Legal obligation: where the processing is necessary for us to comply with legal obligations (for example, accounting and tax requirements).
- 4.4 Legitimate interests: where the processing is necessary for our legitimate interests or those of a third party (for example, improving and securing the Academy, preventing abuse, or providing training usage reporting to a customer organization), and those interests are not overridden by your fundamental rights and freedoms.

We process and store Personal Data for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, and for any additional period required or permitted by law. In particular:
- 5.1 Personal Data collected for the performance of a contract (for example, to provide access to the Academy and deliver courses) is generally retained for the duration of that contract and for a reasonable period thereafter, as required to comply with legal obligations or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
- 5.2 Personal Data processed on the basis of our legitimate interests is retained for as long as needed to fulfill those interests, unless you object to such processing and we have no other lawful basis to continue.
- 5.3 Personal Data processed on the basis of your consent is retained until you withdraw your consent, unless a longer retention period is required or allowed by law.
Once the applicable retention period has expired, the relevant Personal Data will be deleted or anonymized. After that point, certain rights (such as the right of access and the right to data portability) may no longer be exercisable in relation to that Data.
- 6.1 Any personal Data you submit, or that we collect, will be processed by StrangeBee SAS for the purposes described in this Policy and in accordance with applicable data protection law, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where relevant.
- 6.2 We may retain Data for as long as your Account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter, or as required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.
- 6.3 We will not sell your Data. We may share your Data with third-party service providers that help us operate the Website and provide the Services (see Clause 7), and with other entities within our group, where this is necessary and permitted by law.
- 6.4 All personal Data is stored securely and we take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect it. For more details on security, see Clause 12 below.
- 6.5 Any or all of the Data described in Clause 2 may be required by us from time to time in order to provide you with the best possible service and experience when using our Website. Specifically, Data may be used by us for the following reasons:

- 6.5.2 providing the Services, including creating and managing your Account, giving you access to courses, tracking your progress and issuing certificates where applicable;

- 6.5.4 communicating with you about your use of the Services, including service announcements and administrative messages;
- 6.5.5 where permitted by law and, where required, with your consent, sending you promotional materials about our products, services and training that may be of interest to you; and
- 6.5.6 contacting you for market research purposes, using email or other contact methods you have provided, in order to help us better understand our users and improve the Website. Such information may be used to customize or update the Website.
StrangeBee SAS may, from time to time, employ the services of other parties to support the operation of the Website and the provision of the Services. This may include, but is not limited to, payment processing, platform hosting, analytics, advertising and marketing, communications and customer support.
These service providers may have access to certain personal Data to the extent necessary to perform their functions, but they are not permitted to use the Data for their own purposes. Any Data used by such parties is used only to the extent required by them to perform the services that StrangeBee SAS requests, and must be processed in accordance with our instructions, this Policy and applicable data protection law.

Exercising your rights is free of charge, unless your requests are manifestly unfounded or excessive, in which case we may charge a reasonable fee or refuse to act on the request, as permitted by law.
Data security is of great importance to StrangeBee SAS and, to protect your Data, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure Data collected online. While no system is completely secure, we take reasonable steps to protect your Data against unauthorized access, use or disclosure.
